About Allison Addicott

Allison is a Managing Editor at  The Washington Times Communities, edits “The Public Good” section at The Washington Times Communities, where she works as the Social Media Strategist and Coordinator as well. Her work also appears at The Daily Kos and Balkingpoints.com. She is always looking for new writers and exciting voices to add to her talented collection of writers at WTC. She holds a BA from U.C. Berkeley, a Master in Divinity from Pacific School of Religion, and has done PhD work at both Drew University in New Jersey (Philosophy, Religion, and Theology) and the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, Ca., in the History of Religion.

The recipient of numerous graduate and PhD-level scholarships,  Allison  received the Paul Wesley Yinger Award for public speaking when she earned her Master’s in 2003. She has worked in non-profit development, and a variety of editorial positions, (both academic and community publications). She reads,writes, and speaks in French, Spanish and English, in addition to a reading knowledge of Biblical Hebrew.

Seeking to find the intersections of religion and politics around the globe, Allison writes in an attempt to bring informed, insightful analysis to critical issues we face in the 21st century.

Allison has published a few insignificant poems, but loves writing them anyway.  Among  her current concerns is global human trafficking.
